1. Acceptance of Terms
These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of the African CPD Accreditation Network ("ACAN", "we", "us") website and services. By creating an account or using our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
2. Description of Services
ACAN provides provider and course accreditation, digital certificate issuance, credential verification, and CPD tracking ("CPD Wallet") for professionals, training providers, employers and regulators across our member countries.
3. Eligibility & Account Registration
You must provide accurate and complete information when creating an account and keep it up to date. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity under your account.
4. Accreditation & Verification Disclaimer
Accreditation status and verification results reflect the information available to ACAN at the time of assessment. While we apply rigorous review standards, ACAN does not guarantee the ongoing performance, conduct or outcomes of any accredited provider, course or certificate holder.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to misuse our services — including submitting false accreditation or CPD information, attempting to falsify or tamper with a digital certificate, or interfering with the security or normal operation of the platform.
6. Intellectual Property
The ACAN name, logo, accreditation marks, and website content are the property of ACAN and may not be used without written permission, except as necessary to display a valid accreditation or certification you hold.
7. Fees & Payments
Certain services, such as provider accreditation or corporate CPD tracking, are subject to fees as published at the time of application. Fees are non-refundable once an accreditation review has begun, except where required by law.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, ACAN is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from your use of our services, including reliance on accreditation status or verification results.
9. Termination
We may suspend or terminate access to our services for accounts that violate these Terms, including submission of fraudulent accreditation or CPD records. You may close your account at any time through your profile settings.
10. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Kenya, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer or data protection laws applicable in your country of residence.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may revise these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of our services after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
